The tennis court, with the house in the background. The village of Ménerbes, classified as one of "France's most beautiful villages" is on the hilltop to the left.
Peter Mayle, the author of "A Year in Provence", lived just outside Ménerbes when he wrote the book, which became a world-wide best seller. After he was inundated with tourists from all over the world, he moved to Long Island, New York for 4 years.
Villa Cavalon is a stunning property on the plain near Ménerbes. From the pool you can contemplate the lavender field,
the olive orchard and the Luberon hills in the distance.
The Luberon is famous for its perched villages, but you have much easier access to houses on the plain.
Some of the other nearby Luberon villages are Lacoste, Bonnieux, Oppède, Gordes and Rousillon. Also very nearby are the Citadelle Winery & Corkscrew Museum. You are just a bit farther to the famous towns of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, Avignon, St-Rémy-de-Provence, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and other Rhône wine villages.
A very modern and functional kitchen, perfect for those who love to cook, or not. The counters and table top are granite. The 2 meter center island has a five burner induction cook-top and drawers for storage. The back counter has a double sink with integral dish drainer and several appliances. On the left are 2 Miele convection ovens, a warming drawer and a Miele coffee maker for Nespreso capsules. On the right is a side-by-side refrigerator freezer.
The table in front is 1 meter * 2 meters, and with the granite top is extremely easy to care for.
Please not the wall-mounted tv on the left. Each of the 3 tvs in the villa has an integral DVD player.
