Another classy ensuite bedroom, above, with a 160 cm bed, next to the first bedroom. Both these rooms share the terrace; doors to the terrace are seen here, upper left. The room is air-conditioned, and the sumptuous bathroom is on the right. Floors are oak.
Three of the bedrooms have a ‘master’ bedroom feel since they are large, en-suite, and have terraces. The views from the bedrooms are seductive.
The shared terrace on the first floors; doors from the two ensuite bedrooms lead here. In the background you can see the top of a neighboring house. The views from here towards the Alpilles are non-stop.
The largest master ensuite bedroom is on the ground floor; the bed is 180 cm (king size) and the biggest in the house.
There is the possibility of adding an additional bed.
Large doors on the left lead to the front of the house and pool; there are also 'volets' (shutters) to be closed during the day or at night, if you wish. Close the shutters during the day when you go out to keep the room cool.
This is the only bedroom on the ground floor; the bathroom, with shower, tub, jacuzzi, double sink and WC, is just across the hall and is used only by this bedroom.
The floors are stone, as they are in the rest of the ground floor, which helps keep the room cool. The room has under floor cooling.
This bathroom is on the ground floor. It is just across the hall from the master bedroom, but is used only by this bedroom. You find a large double sink, bathtub and jacuzzi, large 'Italian" style shower and WC.
A quiet spot to escape to at the top of the steps, leading to the first floor. In front you see the large three bed room. The two ensuite bedrooms are on the other side of the steps, down the hallway where the photographer is standing.
Through these wrought-iron gates your dream vacation in Provence awaits you. The entry to the house is on the left.
Mas la Belle Amélie is in a very central location for visiting other towns and sites in Provence. The nearby town of St Rémy has a superb choice of cafés,
bakeries, restaurants, shops, and one of the best markets in Provence, on Wednesday morning. Avignon, Arles, the Luberon, Marseille,
the Pont-du-Gard, and many wineries are less than one hour away.
La belle Amélie is a majestic stone mas ('Provencal farmhouse') house located about a 5-10 minute drive from the center of St Rémy de Provence.
From right to left behind the pool you see the pool house, the glass front kitchen and indoor dining space, the outdoor cooking and dining area under the pergola, and the main part of the two story house with first floor. The single story structure is the "spa" area with jacuzzi, sauna and exercise equipment.
The terrace on the first floor on the upper left is shared by two of the bedrooms.
Beyond the main house to the left is a play area for the children.
Doors leading from the ground floor master bedroom and living room to the terrace. The large 'volets' can be closed at night or when you are away from the house; they are used to keep the house cool and for security. This master bedroom has an in-floor cooling system.
A close-up of the Roman pool steps. Play with children in the shallow water or just relax. Or maybe have coffee or a drink at the small table. There are many spots
around the home to escape to for a little privacy. On this photo you can see part of the expansive property.
From the first floor terrace you get a view of the pool and pool house and outdoor kitchen, plus a panoramic view of the Alpilles hills. The pool is 90 square meters and there are steps on one end to ease your entry into the water; or, just sit and relax and enjoy the sun.
The property itself is quite large so you don’t have to go far to find a quiet spot to have a glass of wine or to read a book in the afternoon shade.
The owners really have thought of everything for your vacation pleasure: a shaded outdoor seating area next to the pool, an outdoor kitchen, a fitness room, jacuzzi, play area with a slide and swing set for the children and even bikes for children and adults. Top it off with a meal prepared on-site by a local chef.
The pool house pictured here has a bar with running water, and a refrigerator.
The main living room is bathed in light, and has soothing, sophisticated tones. There are doors going to the front terrace and leading to the pool. The fireplace is ancient, taken from an old home. The floor is made of "Dordogne" stone.
The entire ground floor of the home has in-floor cooling.
The kitchen and dining area is strikingly beautiful. What a pleasure it would be to cook or eat here.
There is a sink on the counter, and a large stove and plancha behind. The counter has four high stools, and the dining table seats 8 to 10. From the dining table you can see views of the property and the Alpilles mountains. There is a high chair so baby can join in at the counter.
Ground floor rooms have stone floors which help to keep the room cool, plus in-floor cooling as well.
Everyone at the dining table will delight in the great views; you almost feel like you are enjoying your meal outside in the garden.
The kitchen and living room are spacious, with high ceilings, bathed in light. The contemporary kitchen has huge glass doors, which appear to disappear into the Alpilles hills. There is lots of room to cook and entertain, even a back kitchen just behind the main kitchen area.
Why not have a chef come in for an evening or two and prepare you a gourmet Provencal meal?
Located behind the main kitchen this back kitchen provides a lot more work space, either to keep the front kitchen tidy or to extend the cooking area.
Appliances are all top notch. The windows face the entry courtyard.
The comfortableTV room, with lots of space to watch tv or just lounge around. To host overnight guests, or for a large family, a bed can be added to the TV room, though the guests will share the hall bath with occupants of the master bedroom.
